Terrence Duane Steffen, age 72, of Charlotte Court House, Virginia, passed away on January 30, 2026. He was born on April 17, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio.
Terrence proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a jet engine mechanic. Following his military service, he worked as a Correctional Officer at Lunenburg Correctional Center and later in retail at Lowe’s.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Loretta Steffen; his son, Matthew Mathias Steffen; two sisters, Donelda Nowak and Tonyia and Garland Scarberry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Torrence was preceded in death by his parents, Rolla M. Steffen and Hazel G. Woodruff; four half-brothers; and three half-sisters.
Terrence enjoyed fishing, cane carving, listening to bluegrass music, loved his plants and attending gun shows. He loved traveling back to his hometown of Toledo, Ohio. A man of faith, he loved God and took pride in dressing sharp, often wearing his suit, cowboy boots, and large belt buckles.
A celebration of life service will be held in memory of Terrence Duane Steffen at 11 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, 110 H Street, Keysville, VA. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
