Vicie “Ellen” Louella Grotte

Vicie Louella Grotte age 84, died unexpectedly February 6 ^th , 2024 at Southside Community Hospital. She was born July 19 ^th , 1939, to the late John and Tillie Sharp in Haywood County NC.

“Ellen” to friends and family, was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard Gordon Grotte; her brother, Dennis Sharp; and step-mother, Edna Sharp.

She is survived by daughters, Sandra D. Lester (Tom) and Rhoda L. Shelton (Tony); sister, Shirley Sharp; grandchildren, Jeremiah Lester, Reannan Tinsley, Rebecca Shelton and Chesnie Long; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Corbin, Victoria, Cody, Brantley, Serenity, McKinley and Britney; and great-great-grandchild, Finley.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm. Saturday, February 10 ^th , 2024, at Ash Camp Baptist Church in Keysville, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Ash Camp Baptist Church Building Fund, P O Box 56, Keysville, VA 23947.  The Browning-Duffer funeral home in Keysville is in charge of arrangements.
