William Vincent Nichols IV, affectionately known as Will, passed away on June 19, 2025, in Charlotte Court House, Virginia, at the age of 21. He was born on May 1, 2004, to Vince Nichols (Kim) and Stefanie Newcomb (Josh). Will is survived by his beloved sisters, Sydney Nichols (Tommy) and Lillyane Belle Nichols; his brother, John Schutt (Natalie); his grandparents, William "V" and Cindy Nichols, and Randy and Patsy Aliff; as well as two nephews, Hunter and John Randal Jr., along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Though Will's life was brief, it was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful contributions. He graduated from Randolph Henry High School as part of the Class of 2022. Following high school, he pursued a career at Longwood University as a Trades Technician. In his leisure time, he worked on the family farm alongside his father and grandfather.
Will had a passion for sports, enjoying hockey, football, and NASCAR, as well as playing video games. He was also an exceptional cook, known for creating his own recipes and delighting in feeding his family. Will was a smart, calm, kind, and driven young man who cherished his family deeply. He was loved and respected by many in his community, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in New Hope Methodist Church, Randolph, VA. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, VA, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2025. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Will’s memory to the Charlotte Court House Volunteer Fire Department, Drakes Branch Fire and Rescue, or the Heads-Up Guys (headsupguys.org). The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
