Barbara Neal Smith, age 76, of Drakes Branch, VA, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011 in Chase City, VA.
She was a Worthy Matron Grand Page of the Order of the Easter Star, President of the Women’s Club, of Drakes Branch, and a member of the Red Cross.
She was the daughter of the late Dayton R. Neal and Virginia May Campbell. Preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Smith, and her husband, George Russell Smith, Sr.
Surviving are her children, Betsy Smith Warren, George Russell Smith, Jr., and Dee, James Clive Smith, II and Judy; Grandchildren, Holley and Stephen; a brother, Malcomb Douglas Neal; a nephew, Dayton Douglas Neal; and a niece, Kathy Whitt.
A Graveside Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011, in the Locust Grove Family Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. Pastor Allen Branson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Friday, July 15, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
