Dorothy Lipscomb Lockridge, age 97, a resident of Babcock Manor Appomattox, formerly of Saxe, VA died August 11, 2010.
She was born on February 17, 1913 to the late Dave T. and Geraldine Layne Lipscomb. Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles K. Lockridge; brother, David Tillman Lipscomb, sisters, Sue Lipscomb Tate, and Betty Lipscomb Morton.
She is survived by a son, Johnny Lockridge and his wife Doris of Saxe, and a daughter, Betty Lockridge Hamlett and her husband, William of Pamplin; six grandchildren, Andrew, Mark and Kenneth Corbett, William Hamlett II, Beverly L. Tate, Keith Lockridge; six great-grandchildren, Joshua and Kenneth Corbett Jr., Austin, Dalton, and Mary Madison Lockridge, and Allen Wayne Tate.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a. m., Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, with interment in the Hermon Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 13, 2010, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
