Anthony “Tony” Wayne Grant, age 73, of Drakes Branch, VA, formerly of Cape Split, Addison, Maine, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2022. He was the son of the late, Guy and Elaine Grant.
Tony is survived by two daughters, Pamela Toombs, Kathryn Griffith (Rodney); eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Carlino, Ariel Eppes, Darian Eccles, Elise Marston, Alexis Toombs, Levi Toombs, Lily Toombs, and Izzy Griffith; four great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters; one brother, Barry Grant (Diane); one nephew; four nieces; and many great-nephews and great-nieces; and lifelong friend, Obbie Davis, who he called his “other brother”.
Tony served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked in various jobs throughout his working years, lastly in the garage with Obbie. Tony was a lay leader at Faith United Methodist Church in Addison, Maine.
Pam and Kathy would like to convey how blessed they were this past year with having their father in their lives along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They have many happy memories to cherish.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maine in July 2023.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
