David Edward Dunaway, age 67 departed this Earthly life on March 1, 2022.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 48 years, Joyce; a son David (Tiffany) Dunaway of Keysville, VA; a daughter Anne (Gary) Bohannon of Chase City, VA and one grandson, Kyle Bohannon of Chase City, VA.
He is also survived by three siblings:
Al (Louise) Dunaway, Nancy (Larry) Dixon and Debbie DeMuth. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Paul and Maude Dunaway.
Simply put, David enjoyed living. He loved the simple things in life and the great outdoors. He loved his family and appreciated nothing more than to have them all together for a meal. He was a master with his favorite tools: the grill, the lawn mower and remote control. He enjoyed a career of 30+ years with Norfolk Southern Railroad and could tell you anything you wanted to know about a train. He loved to laugh and always appreciated a good joke.
While his health failed him for the past several years, his zest for life remained unchanged. True to his character, David put up a brave and courageous fight until the very end.
He will be greatly missed.
