Henry Thweatte Anderson of Burkeville, VA passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019. He was the son of Laurence G. and Valeria Edwards Anderson.   Henry is survived by his son, David Wayne Anderson, his step sons David and Kevin Chenault, his grandson Jason Wallace, his brother Frank Anderson, sisters Ruby Robinson, Donna Stafford, Carrie Reece, Nina Layne, Jane Holt, Nora Daubenspeck, Irma (Earley) Thompson, and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his dear wife of 35 years, Marie Rosser Anderson, two sons H. T. Anderson Jr. and Robert (Bobby) Marshall Anderson, his brother L.G. Anderson Jr. and sisters Mary Hughes, Fannie Price and Valeria (Bug) Howard.  Henry retired from truck driving following employment with Roy C. Jenkins and Great Coastal respectively.  He was a member of Burkeville Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Henry possessed an endearing love for horses, owning several during his life. With smiles and great laughter Henry joined his dad, brothers Frank and L.G., sisters Fannie and Nina, and sister-in-law Sarah riding in numerous jousting tournaments.

Services will be held at the Burkeville Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at 2 p.m., with interment following at the Burkeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. The family requests donations be made to the Burkeville Fire Department in memory of Henry Anderson. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.

    I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Henry’s passing! I remember growing up that he was always smiling and so nice to everyone.     So sorry for your loss. Henry and my husband, James” Bee” Whirley graduated together. We so much enjoyed being with him and Marie at the school reunions. Take comfort in knowing you all are thought of during this time of sorrow.
