Annie Mae Masters

Annie Mae Mason Masters, 84, of Drakes Branch, VA, passed away at her home April 11, 2016. She was born on September 30, 1931, in Red House, VA. The daughter of the late James Duval and Bertha Mae Covington Mason, she spent many years working in restaurants and factories. Annie Mae was preceded in death by her husbands, Israel Mason and John D. Masters, Sr. a son, John “Butch” D. Masters, Jr.; daughter, Pamela S. Masters; brothers, sisters, and grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Henry Mason and his wife, Debbie of Amelia, VA, Bobby W. Mason and his wife, April of Saxe, VA, James “Jimmy” H. Masters and his wife, Hedy Sue of Gladys, VA; two daughters-in-law, Brenda Wilkerson of Keysville, VA, and Peggy Masters of Saxe, VA; grandchildren; Angie Davis, Robbie Mason, Ann James, Brian Hightower, Brad Hightower, Kandace Blanton, Leslie Wilkerson, Stephanie Mason, Dutch Masters, Amanda Spencer, Jeremy Masters, Isaac Masters, Ashley Mason, Sabrina Masters, and Jackie Scott Wiles who she considered to be one; numerous great- grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Waycaster and her husband, Glen of Red House, VA, Marguerite Rutledge of Drakes Branch, VA; and one brother, Tom Mason and his wife, Linda of Saxe, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2016, in the family cemetery, Red House, VA. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
