Iva Dean Reinhardt, age 90, of Keysville, passed away on Monday, August 25. She was born November 9, 1923, in Cana, Virginia, to the late James Husie and Rosa May Dean, and was one of seven children. She was employed by Burlington Industries and Virginia Crafts, but her most rewarding employment was as a childcare provider in her home. She cared for many children over the years, including her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was called “Nannie” by all of them. She had a special place in her heart for all her “Babies” who stayed with her over the years. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Gilliam and her husband Spider; a son, William F. Reinhardt and his wife Laura, all of Keysville; an adopted daughter, Patricia Boen of Moore, OK. She is survived by two sisters, Luzetta Dodson and Irene Zita. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Cheryl, Julie, Stefan, Scot, and Kimberly; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jessie F. Reinhardt, as well as two brothers, Junior and Glen Dean; and two sisters, Ann Driskill and Sadie Johnson.

A visitation will take place Wednesday, August 27, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 28, in Eureka Baptist Church in Keysville, with Rev. Joey Giles officiating. Burial will be at Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery. The family asks that anyone who wishes to make a donation in her honor consider sending it to Eureka Baptist Church or Charlotte County Rescue Squad. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
