Robert Bud Ramsey Wilmouth, age 72, of Keysville, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 18th, 2015.
Bud is survived by his wife, Brenda Harris Wilmouth, of Keysville, VA; three sons, Robert Ramsey Wilmouth Jr. of Beaverdam, VA Stephanie, David Michael Wilmouth of Somerville, MA Joy, Brett Daniel Wilmouth of Keysville, VA Jennie; two sisters, Joyce Wilmouth Fulcher of Farmville, VA Henry, Ann Wilmouth Seamster of Phenix, VA Joe; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two nephews; two nieces and two great nieces.
Bud was born on March 8th, 1942 in Charlotte County, VA to Clarence Ramsey Wilmouth and Creola Pennell Wilmouth. He graduated from Randolph-Henry High School in 1960. He worked as an Agricultural Research Supervisor for Virginia Tech initially stationed in Charlotte Court House, VA and then in Blackstone, VA for a total of 40 years. Bud and Brenda were married on April 5th, 1969 and enjoyed 45 years of marriage.
Bud was an active member of Eureka Baptist Church in Keysville, VA serving as a deacon for 53 years. He was an active member of the Charlotte Ruritan Club for many years. He worked as a volunteer for the Charlotte County Meals-on-Wheels program since its inception. He and his wife Brenda went on disaster relief Missions trips to help others in their time of need.
Bud loved many things in life: his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his wife and family, his church and his community. He enjoyed the sense of accomplishment that comes from hard work. He loved farming, fishing and vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC and Topsail Beach, NC. Bud truly loved the people in his life and always put the needs / wants of others before his own. He was a positive influence on everyone with whom he came in contact.
Family visitation will be held at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA from 6pm – 8pm on Friday, February 20th, 2015. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at Eureka Baptist Church in Keysville, VA. A reception will follow at the Community Building adjacent to the church. All are welcome to attend. Aubrey Heath will officiate the ceremony. Due to weather conditions, there will be no graveside portion the entire service will be inside. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Charlotte County Meals-on-Wheels program. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
