Virginia Louise Preston, age 88, of Keysville, VA, died November 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Elmer Griffith and Lawrence Hurt; one brother, Dayton Hicks; three sisters, Hattie Seats, Annie Mae Ringley, and Mary K. Campbell; and one granddaughter, Dena Lacks. She is survived by her husband, Sydney B. Preston; four children, Frances Phaup, Tony Griffith, Janie Greene, and Steven Campbell; brothers, Oscar Hicks, Jerry Hicks, Leroy Hicks, and Bennie Hicks; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Virginia loved God, her family, her church, and her music. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2013, at Meherrin Baptist Church. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
