William Reginald Jackson lost his four year battle with cancer June 16, 2012. Born June 25, 1947, he was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Garrett Jackson and Ray Albert Jackson, and brother Curtis Albert Jackson. He is survived by his devoted wife and lifetime soul mate, Deborah Martin Jackson; two sisters, Cheryl Jackson Jennings of Farmville, and Brenda Jackson Robinson, Dale of Pamplin; two nieces, Stacy Kinder of Appomattox, Kimberly Boettcher of Prospect; four great nieces; and one great nephew. He also leaves behind a multitude of wonderful friends, family, and former students. He was surrounded by loving caregivers and friends until the very end.
William was a retired educator for Charlotte County Public Schools. He was a life-long teacher and learner. He enjoyed helping friends and family with problem solving, and had a great zest for life. His sense of humor and smile were his signature along with his love of travel and the Phillies.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Grace Episcopal Church in Drakes Branch, VA, with a visitation starting at noon, prior to the service at that same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the animal shelter of your choice. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is in charge of the arrangements.
…Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.
