Alma Kathleen Wood Baldwin, age 94, of Keysville, VA., passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 in The Woodland, Farmville, VA. She and her husband owned and operated Baldwin’s Market in Keysville for 23 years. She was a member of the Keysville United Methodist Church, A Charter member of the Keysville Garden Club. She was instrumental in founding Little League Baseball in Keysville. She was an avid flower gardener, sought out for her prize winning flair for flower arrangements, and was known statewide for her beautiful English boxwoods.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus A. Wood, his wife, Annabille Coley Wood; her husband of 63 years, Bennett Holt Baldwin.
She is survived by a son Robert Wood Baldwin, Sr. and his wife Linda, of Keysville, three sisters; Eloise Tucker, Marjorie Snapp, her husband Roy, Jean Reams; Betty Sheldon Baldwin; grandchildren, Robert W. Baldwin, Jr., Elizabeth Anne Baldwin Ereio and her husband Gregg, of Aurora, Colorado., Kimberly Kay Baldwin Berglie and her husband, William, of Centreville, VA.; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Sarah, Natalie, and Hannah Ereio, and Rebecca and Alex Berglie; Ashley Faye and Emiley Grace Mitchell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 at 11a.m. in Keysville United Methodist Church, Keysville, VA. Interment Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery. Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Keysville United Methodist Church, 9290 Church Street, Keysville, VA 23947.
